Steps to cure new wood matte

If you want to learn how to cure a wooden mate, you just have to follow these simple steps:

Spread the inside of the container with butter (fatty element). Help yourself with your fingers and cover the entire interior. Over the hours, the wood absorbs this grease and we prevent the wood from cracking with hot water.

Fill the container with yerba from a used mate (if you don't have it, you can use unused yerba mate). Fill with hot water (between 70-80ºC) and let stand for a day.

Remove all the interior.

Repeat steps 2 and 3 as well for two or three days.

Empty the content of your mate and rinse it very well. You can pour water around 70ºC into the container until when you empty it, this water comes out transparent.

Let dry outdoors or in an open and dry place.
